Smoke From Trash Fire Fills New York City Train Platform

A trash fire inside the PATH train tunnel near the 14th Street Station in New York filled the platform with smoke on July 8, a representative from the rail line said.

Video from Alan Lemes shows a haze of smoke on the platform, at 14th Street and 6th Avenue, and inside a New Jersey–bound train. An employee is heard saying “the fire is out, everything is OK,” over a loudspeaker in the background.

The video then shows a PATH employee with a fire extinguisher next to him. PATH confirmed that the fire was extinguished.
