'It Snapped Those Trees Like Toothpicks': Storm Chaser Records Aftermath of Deadly Texas Tornado

A building in Paris, Texas, was destroyed after a deadly EF 3 tornado hit Lamar County on November 4, uprooting and snapping trees like “toothpicks,” according to a storm chaser who visited the area.

“I don’t think anyone’s here,” Jonny Gabel can be heard saying as he films the debris at the location. The footage shows a building with a roof half-destroyed, and detritus strewn around.

The National Weather Service confirmed that significant damage was found in the area, after it was hit by the tornado, which carried winds up to 160 mph.

One death was reported in Texas, and one in Oklahoma after the twister left a “21-mile-long trail of destruction,” according to local media. Credit: Jonny Gabel via Storyful
