Snoop Dogg has offered to adopt an abandoned Staffordshire terrier from Stoke-on-Trent. A shocking video of the dog being abandoned by its owner went viral just before Christmas, with millions of people around the world watching the heartbreaking scenes.

The CCTV footage showed the dog, that has been named Snoop by the RSPCA, heartlessly abandoned roadside by its owner. Dumped out of a white car with just his dog bed for comfort, the dog is shown chasing after its owner as their car speeds away.

But looks like the poor dog won’t have any trouble finding a loving new home, as not only has he earned millions of fans thanks to the viral video, but now his namesake Snoop Dogg has even offered to give him a home.

Speaking to the Daily Star the 47-year-old rapper, real name Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., said he’d seen the video and found it ‘heartbreaking.’

“It is heartbreaking. There is always room for another dog in Casa de Snoop. If he really needed a home then he has one with us,” Dogg said.

But he also admitted that he doesn’t think Snoop will have any trouble finding a new owner.

“But I don’t think there is going to be any shortage of loving homes after all the exposure he has got,” he added.

As his rapper name would suggest, Snoop Dogg is a massive dog fan, owns several and even came out with a dog clothing line ‘Doggfather’ back in 2006.

He called himself Snoop Dogg after his mother told him he looked like Snoopy from the Peanuts cartoon growing up.

As for the actual dog Snoop, the RSPCA has said that ‘hundreds’ of people had already offered to rescue him.

A spokesperson for the charity said: “We have had hundreds of people wanting to rehome him although he isn’t up for adoption while we investigate his abandonment.

“We are so grateful to everyone who has shared Snoop’s story. Millions of people across the world have viewed the heartbreaking footage of him being abandoned, which shows that even at Christmas we deal with heartbreaking incidents like this.”

The charity also confirmed that a criminal investigation as to who abandoned the dog continues.
