Snow-Covered Buffalo Herd Endures South Dakota Storm With Aplomb
A buffalo herd in Britton, South Dakota, seemed unbothered by a winter storm with -25 degree Fahrenheit wind chills on Thursday, February 23, as heavy snowfall impacted the region.
Video posted by Twitter user @CbarJRanch on Thursday, which they said was captured in Britton, shows the herd with snow collecting in their coats. The rancher wrote in the caption: “Buffalo: bad weather? Never heard of it.”
The National Weather Service (NWS) reported that cold air moved into the area after a “fresh snow pack” on Thursday. Wind chills dropped as low as -45 F by Friday morning, the NWS said. Credit: @CbarJRanch via Storyful
