SNP confirm speaker for upcoming All Under One Banner independence rally

The SNP have confirmed a speaker for the upcoming All Under One Banner march

ALL Under One Banner (AUOB) has confirmed that an SNP MP will speak at an upcoming independence rally in Glasgow.

Independence supporters are due to march for both Scottish independence and “against the war on Gaza” on Saturday, May 4.

AUOB invited all independence supporting parties to attend the rally and put forward a speaker to address the crowd.

The SNP had initially missed the deadline of April 8 set by AUOB to confirm whether or not they would be sending a representative to speak at the rally.

However, they have now confirmed that SNP MP Alison Thewliss (below) will attend and address the crowd.

AUOB said in a post on social media: “@theSNP has confirmed that Alison Thewliss MP will be the party’s speaker at the Glasgow Green Rally on Saturday, May 4”.

At the time of writing the Scottish Greens have yet to respond to AUOB’s invitation.

When The National approached the party for comment, they declined to offer any response.

The invites also added an invitation to "another of this year’s three scheduled AUOB demonstrations" if the parties were unable to attend the Glasgow march.

These are due to take place in Stirling on June 22, Elgin on August 3 and Edinburgh on September 7.
