Soccer Aid fans have heaped praise on presenter and former footballer Alex Scott as she debuted a sophisticated new look for tonight's match.

The presenter is back alongside Dermot O'Leary to host the pitch-side coverage from the annual charity match, which is taking place in London at Stamford Bridge tonight.

The 39-year-old wore a figure-hugging white floor-length gown with a high neckline. The elegant dress featured a high split-up one leg and a cut-out to the side with white fringing detail. Alex wore her hair parted to the side and slicked back with a dramatic long pony tail down her back.

Fans complimented the star on her look, which she rounded off with some silver jewellery, saying the presenter looked 'stunning'. "How gorgeous is Alex Scott looking?" one viewer asked on X, formerly Twitter, while another commented: "Alex Scott slaying as usual."

Another said: "Alex Scott looks stunning," while a fourth wrote: "Oi Alex Scott is looking stunning on soccer aid." However one fan was concerned that the white fringes on her gown were getting in the way. "Beautiful dress but I can see some of the tassles catching on her heel!" they commented. Another viewer said: "Alex Scott looking absolutely f***ing fabulous!"

Some viewers, however, said they would rather see the presenter back in a football kit. "I’m once again asking miss alex scott to ditch the mic next year and put the boots back on!" one fan said, while another asked: "Why isn’t Alex Scott playing?"

Meanwhile, some ITV viewers were distracted from the coverage as they noticed a problem with the pitch ahead of kick off. As the coverage got underway this evening viewers were quick to notice that the pitch at Chelsea's ground looked a bit worse for wear with several large brown patches visible.

"State of the pitch at Stamford Bridge, surely they could have played somewhere better," one viewer commented. "Pitch so bad it looks like Beach Footy!!" another said.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! winner Sam Thompson and Strictly Come Dancing's Bobby Brazier are among the celebrities playing for England in Soccer Aid for the first time this year, while former England footballer Jill Scott, TV presenter Paddy McGuinness, Dragons’ Den star Steven Bartlett and Olympian Sir Mo Farah have all returned to the England line-up.

The World XI FC team includes Olympic runner Usain Bolt, comedian Maisie Adam, radio presenter Roman Kemp, comedian Lee Mack and Love Island star Tommy Fury.
