Solihull Moors fans travelling down to Wembley have been warned there will be no direct train services to Wembley Stadium on the day of the FA Trophy final, May 11. Chiltern Railways has warned Solihull Moors fans of disruption that will impact journeys down for the National League Play-Off Final and FA Trophy Final on Sunday May 5 and Saturday May 11 respectively.

Industrial action on May 11 means there were will be no direct services to Wembley Stadium for fans, and a significantly reduced timetable between Birmingham, Solihull, and London Marylebone. Due to this, Chiltern Railways has recommended that fans going down on May 11 travel on the New Street line to Euston.

Solihull Moors fans told the BBC they are in "dreamland" over their imminent trips to Wembley. Andy Whing's men booked their first-ever trip to Wembley in the FA Trophy Final after they won at Bromley in the FA Trophy semi-finals last month.

The club then secured a place in the National League promotion final by thumping Barnet 4-0 on Saturday. As they set out for the capital two weeks running, Chiltern Railways has released specific travel advice for fans to avoid disappointment on the big day.

Sunday May 5

On Sunday 5 May, Chiltern Railways will be running two trains per hour from Birmingham Moor Street and Solihull to Wembley Stadium.

However, due to engineering works on the route from Birmingham to London Euston, Chiltern Railways is the only option for direct services between Birmingham and London.

While trains have been lengthened where possible, services are expected to be very busy, and customers may not be able to board their preferred train.

Queuing systems will be in place at Birmingham Moor Street and Solihull before the game, and Wembley Stadium.

Those not attending the football are advised that a quieter time to travel between the West Midlands and London will be in the middle of the day.

Saturday May 11 - no direct Wembley trains

Industrial action by the ASLEF union is impacting Chiltern services for this fixture. No trains will call at Wembley Stadium station, and a significantly reduced timetable is operating between Birmingham, Solihull, and London Marylebone.

There will not be a direct service to Wembley Stadium on this day. Fans may not be able to board their preferred train, as queuing systems will be in place at Birmingham Moor Street and Solihull before the game.

Alternative services are available from Birmingham New Street or Birmingham International with Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern, for onward connections to Wembley Stadium via the London Underground.

Due to the industrial action, fans have been urged to check ahead before they travel and to expect busier journeys across the rail network.
