Somerset man found dead at Yahoo Falls

Mar. 30—A Somerset man was reportedly found deceased at Yahoo Falls in McCreary County, according to information from the National Park Service.

A statement from the National Park Service (NPS) issued Friday said that Isaac Lee Turpin, 23, of Somerset, was pronounced dead at 12:41 p.m. Friday.

That morning, visitors had discovered and reported a deceased individual in the water at Yahoo Falls, in the Kentucky area of the Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area, according to the release.

National Park Rangers responded to the incident along with McCreary County Deputies and the county's Emergency Management Director and Coroner's Office, the Whitley City Fire Department and Ambulance Service, the USDA Forest Service, and the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife.

An investigation into the incident is being conducted, according to the release.
