Somewhere By Nico to take Glasgow on nostalgia trip with Simpsons and Walkman-themed menu
Glasgow's food and drink fans can look forward to a nostalgia fuelled trip to the heady days of the pre-Y2K world, with a new menu from Somewhere By Nico being inspired by the likes of Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal and The Simpsons.
Nostalgia is the second in a series of immersive cocktail experiences dreamed up by the team at Somewhere, the new cocktail venue on Byres Road.
A set tasting experience of six limited edition cocktails and food pairings will transport drinkers back through the decades to the 80s and 90s when it launches at the end of this month.
The six-course cocktail experience takes customers on a journey, with each creative cocktail accompanied by a playful food pairing.

The team say each of the food pairings will come with a vegetarian option, while those who'd prefer no alcohol can also join in the experience.
Somewhere will announce a new cocktail experience inspired by immersive worlds – drawing from dreams, stories, memories, and myths – every six weeks.
Nostalgia is available at Somewhere by Nico on Tuesday, April 30, and will run until Sunday, June 9.
‘Cereal Milk’, served with a parmesan, sable and wild garlic ‘Pop Tart’, blends brandy, cream-liqueur and oat milk to reignite memories of the quintessential breakfast (best enjoyed with an episode of Live and Kicking).
Meanwhile, ‘The Simpsons’ cocktail pays homage to Homer, mixing tequila, 0% beer reduction and ginger tea, topped-off with a ‘Simpsons Doughnut’.
Guests will even get their own special playlist with one course, ‘The Walkman’, a cocktail with artisanal vodka, white cocoa, maple syrup, lime and feuilletine with bacon and maple syrup.
Those who miss cola cubes, fruit salad and astro belts, will look forward to ‘Pick n Mix’, while a bourbon-infused beef, tomato syrup and pickled juice saline are served with a crispy chicken leg and potato terrine for the ‘Happy Meal’ course.
It’s all finished with a ‘Mr Whippy’, a rum, cherry, lime and flavour blaster bubble served with plum syrup serve and red cherry glaze soft serve.
Speaking about the thrilling new menu, restaurateur Nico Simeone said: “For me, my childhood memories are the most influential in approaching creative menus and making connections. The development of new ideas, dishes and cocktails is often done when everyone is chatting about ‘what they remember’.
“With our second menu, 'Nostalgia', this was extremely beneficial in our approach and creative development, resulting in a fun & engaging cocktail experience that we hope everyone can relate to in their own way.
“Nostalgia is the perfect opportunity for us to transport our guests back to their own memories, and we can’t wait to see them have their own unique experiences.”
