Sony Pictures And Craig Gillespie Reunite On Daniel Casey’s Untitled Heist Spec; Plan B Producing
EXCLUSIVE: Following the acclaim of the comedy Dumb Money, director Craig Gillespie and Sony Pictures are reteaming on another film in which money plays a factor in the central story. In a competitive situation, Sony has acquired Daniel Casey’s untitled heist spec screenplay, with Gillespie set to direct and Plan B producing.
Casey will also produce with Josie Liang under their newly formed production company Space Bandit, as will Gillespie. The logline is being kept under wraps. Brittany Morrissey will oversee the project for the studio.

Best known for his based-on-true-life comedies like the Oscar-nominated I, Tonya and Dumb Money, Gillespie has also seen success with commercial tentpole fare, directing Disney’s Cruella starring Emma Stone. Gillespie has also seen success on the TV side recently exec producing and directing the Hulu limited series Pam & Tommy.
