Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas made headlines earlier this month when they headed into the Little White Wedding Chapel in Vegas and said I do. But as the Game of Thrones actress has now revealed, the whole thing was actually meant to be a big secret.

“I would have kept it a secret,” explained Turner. “Marriage is a private thing between two people and I think that’s how it should always be.”

So what happened? Well, she and her now husband just didn’t expect their wedding DJ – international music producer Diplo – to blow the whistle by live-streaming the whole thing on Instagram.

The natural blonde opened up on her feelings about the big reveal in an interview in the latest edition of the Porter Edit. “It would have been better if no one had known,” she added, “but I actually think it was funny.”

There are now rumours that the couple will tie the knot again later this summer, with lots of people speculating as to the where and the when.

When Turner appeared on The Graham Norton Show red sofa last Friday night, the Irish presenter quizzed her about an upcoming party, pretending to guess the date and location. Only for her to laughingly admit that he was scarily close to the right time and place.

“It’s in France, 15th of July, just outside Montpellier. I have no idea,” he said jokingly.

“That was a pretty good guess,” she said.

The new Mrs Jonas explained in the Porter Edit interview her feelings on marriage. “It’s not about the dress, it’s not about the food. It’s about being husband and wife, and being dedicated to each other forever.”

That won’t stop the world watching to see what she’ll be wearing second time round of course.

And while Game of Thrones may have finished, she might not have time for a honeymoon just yet. The next X-Men instalment, Dark Phoenix, which centres around her character Jean Grey, will hit UK cinemas next week.
