Sounds of the City 2024: Drinks prices at bars for Castlefield Bowl festival

Sounds of the City 2024 festival kicked off in big style at Castlefield Bowl on Wednesday night (July 3) with a performance from Canadian pop-rock princess Avril Lavigne.

The sold-out show, which featured support from fellow Canadians and 90s rock-pop group Simple Plan, was the first of a mammoth series of gigs to take place over the next two weeks.

The summer festival will see performances from Tom Grennan, Jungle, the Manic Street Preachers and Suede, Fatboy Slim and conclude with a euphoric performance from Hacienda Classical.

Next up on the roster this week will be American rock band The National, who will perform at the outdoor venue on Thursday night (July 4). Following them will be Fatboy Slim on Friday (July 5) and the Saw Doctors on Saturday (July 6).

With the events kicking off this week, we’ve got you covered in terms of the prices for drinks at the bar if you are wanting to plan ahead. Alongside a number of food stalls, from the likes of Wrap Up, there are also a few bars dotted around the site, offering a mixture of alcohol and soft drinks.

Beer prices start from £6.20, going up to £13.30 for larger cold beer options, whilst cider is priced similarly from £6.30 to £13.60. There are also a selection of wines, spirit cans, and non-alcoholic options, which are priced at £5.80.

There are also a number of other bar areas, which may vary in price. As with events of this nature, you will be not permitted to bring any liquids in with you when entering.
