How Southampton will approach Saturday's game at Leeds United is one of the big questions currently hanging over this fixture. With fourth place in the Championship guaranteed no matter of the result at Elland Road, Saints have nothing to play for in terms of points, with just form and confidence up for grabs.

Boss Russell Martin opted to make numerous changes last week for the loss against Stoke City with the likes of Adam Armstrong, Che Adams and Jan Bednarek all dropped to the bench, while Ryan Fraser and Seko Mara came into the side. Newcastle United loan player Fraser has not had the easiest of transitions to Southampton but his experience may be key for Martin, who could select the Scotland international again.

Meanwhile there could be another of the Tartan Army in the line-up at Leeds, as we look at the big injury news for Southampton ahead of the final game of the regular season.

Ross Stewart

A transfer that attracted plenty of attention at the time, Stewart has played just 17 minutes of football for Southampton since his arrival at the start of the season for £10m from Sunderland. Having overcome an Achilles injury the Scotland international looked ready to start his Saints career only to pick up a hamstring problem which has ruled him out since. However, all indications are he could be on the bench on Saturday with Russell Martin hoping to give the player some minutes ahead of the play-offs.

Joe Rothwell

The midfielder has played 31 times for Saints this season but won't be in action at Elland Road after picking up a hamstring injury in the 5-0 defeat at Leicester City. A big loss for Saints given who else is absent in midfield right now, he could be back for the play-off final if his team make it to Wembley.

Gavin Bazuna

The Saints will be without their first-choice keeper for the trip to Elland Road and for the play-offs after he ruptured his Achilles last month in the warm-up to the Preston North End game. The loss of the Republic of Ireland shot-stopper is a big blow for Southampton, who will turn to Alex McCarthy on Saturday afternoon.

Stuart Armstrong

As if losing your number one goalkeeper isn't bad enough, Southampton are also without influential midfielder Armstrong for the rest of the season. A quad injury which saw him stretchered off against Cardiff City will ensure he also watches the play-offs from the sidelines.

Juan Larios

This one is hardly going to register and Leeds United supporters will be forgiven for even knowing anything about Larios, who has not featured for the club all season after a number of injury issues.
