Spanish, Dutch have no new agreement on Brexit, Dutch official says

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - There is no new agreement between the Netherlands and Spain about how Britain should leave the European Union, a Dutch Finance Ministry official said on Friday.

Bloomberg reported on Friday that the Spanish and Dutch finance ministers had agreed to work together for a softer Brexit agreement that maintains close ties between the EU and Britain.

The Spanish and Dutch finance ministers had a meeting, but no deal was reached. "There is nothing new here. They are well-known positions that were exchanged," spokesman Coen Gelinck said.

Spain's economy minister also denied there was any such agreement.
