Spanish PM Lays Flowers at Bucha Church During Kyiv Visit

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez visited the Kyiv suburb of Bucha on Thursday, February 23, the eve of the first anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Footage published by Sanchez on Twitter shows him laying flowers at the Church of St Andrew and Pyervozvannoho All Saints in Bucha before surveying damaged apartment blocks in the Kyiv suburb.

Sanchez also met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during the visit, who praised the Spanish Prime Minister, saying his visit on the eve of the war’s anniversary “shows that Ukraine and Spain will continue to stand together for the freedom of Ukraine.”
