Spate of cars damaged in 24 hours

An arrest was made after several cars were damaged. Officers said they received six reports of vehicles being damaged in the Neston area on Tuesday, January 21 in the space of 24 hours.

Damage included broken wingmirrors and a smashed rear window. Following the reports, officers arrested a 22-year-old man, who was from the area, on suspicion of criminal damage.

He was taken to custody and was said to be assisting officers with their enquiries, Cheshire Police said. Sergeant Joanne Fletcher, of the Western Area Investigation team, said: “Incidents of this nature cause concern within the local community and I would like to reassure residents, that we are treating these allegations seriously.

“A 22-year-old man is currently in custody and, as part of our ongoing enquires, we are keen to hear from anyone with any information which may aid our investigation.
