Spider-Man Offshoot Silk: Spider Society Scrapped at Amazon
Spider-Man’s web is losing a strand: Amazon’s announced offshoot Silk: Spider Society is no longer moving forward at the streamer, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The live-action Marvel series, first announced in November 2022, was set to focus on Cindy Moon, a Korean-American woman bitten by the same spider that got Peter Parker. The action would follow Cindy as she “escapes imprisonment and searches for her missing family on her way to becoming the superhero known as Silk,” per the official description.

Former Walking Dead executive producer Angela Kang was slated to serve as showrunner on the series, which would have debuted on linear network MGM+ before being available to stream on Prime Video.
Earlier this week, Amazon handed a series order to another Spider-Man spinoff: Noir, starring Nicolas Cage as an aging and down-on-his-luck private investigator in 1930s New York who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero. (Cage will reprise his voice role from the animated hit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.) The series will also debut on MGM+ before streaming on Prime Video.
