Squirrel Spotted Munching on Leftover Chicken Tender
A squirrel was spotted on a Chicken Shop Date for one in Leeds recently.
Harry Davies, who recorded this video, told Storyful he was walking into his bedroom when he saw the hungry critter nibbling a tender, or goujon as he called it, on his neighbor’s fence.
“In my shock, it was eating on a chicken goujon taken from the bin and was sitting extremely close to the window,” he said. “I decided to take a video of it to send to my girlfriend. She found it extremely funny that my Scouse accent, from Liverpool, came out thick and strong.”
He added that he had not seen anything like it before. “Especially eating meat! The little squirrel scurried away really quick. I hope it enjoyed the goujon,” he said.
While fried chicken is not normally on the menu for a squirrel, the animal is omnivorous and will sometimes turn to eating “insects, such as caterpillars, bird eggs and even nestlings,” according to the Natural History Museum.
