Stacey Solomon has insisted she has "nothing against the monarchy" but can't understand why we pay money towards them.
Speaking to The Guardian, the star said it was "really difficult" to have the clip doing the rounds in the wake of Her Majesty's death, as that wasn't when she had made the comments.
Explaining her thoughts, Solomon went on: "I have nothing against the monarchy and the Queen seemed like a lovely lady, but I don’t understand why we pay a contribution to one of the wealthiest families in the world.”
Former X Factor star Solomon said she didn't get why so many were "obsessed" with the royals.
"I'm probably going to be of the opinion of nobody else in the entire world but I just don't get it," she said.
"I don't get any of it."
The TV star, 32, clarified to The Guardian that she was talking about priorities when she originally made the remarks on her show.
The mum-of-four said she had struggled to understand that money was going to people who were already really wealthy, while at the same time some children in the UK were not getting lunches.
She added that it would be good to have an "opt-in opt-out" situation.
