Stacey Solomon's 75p trick for removing bathroom sealant mould 'easily and effectively' was revealed in a recent episode of Sort Your Life Out on BBC One.

In the fourth episode of the first series, the TV star was in Manchester with her cleaning team to assist stay-at-home mum, Cherelle, and courier Tony, in decluttering their home.

The parents-of-four had only been living there for three years however every room was crammed with toys and all their belongings.

With two daughters aged four and three, and one year old twins, the parents admitted they had little time to organise their home, reports the Mirror, with Cherelle confessing: "I feel with every child, we have accumulated more. There's just no order, there's no structure. Everything is everywhere. I've got clothes in the kitchen, I've got birth certificates in the laundry room."

As the dependable team tackled the disordered home, cleaning expert Iwan Carrington went to the bathroom to share a "really easy" mould removal tip. Highlighting the mould growth on the bath sealant, Iwan advised: "All you need to do is get some neat bleach and then just run a line of it along that sealant."

To keep the cleaning product in place, the expert covered the area with cotton wool balls.

Continuing, he said: "We are going to leave this overnight, and by the morning they've had a nice little party together and it's all going to be back to lovely and white."

Victoria Plum explains the adhesive is typically used in bathrooms and kitchens as it creates a waterproof seal between tiles, appliances, and flooring. However a lack of proper ventilation can lead to mould development on sealants, especially true in bathrooms with constant moisture in the air.

You can get a whopping 100 cotton wool balls for 75p from Sainsbury's or £1 from Poundland. Add that to your shopping list for when you are next out.

Next, Iwan directed his attention towards the toilet, revealing a 'hidden button' ignored by many homeowners. He said: "There's one area in toilets that does get quite grotty if you don't often get to it and it is underneath these metal hinges. If you've got this button on your toilet seat, the whole seat should just pop off["

The expert then removed the metal hinges and indicated the collected dirt. He continued: "This is where all that hidden dirt is. You can use your toilet cleaner or some vinegar to clean it. I'm going to scrub it away with an old toothbrush."

"Ensure the toothbrush goes back to its rightful place because I wouldn't want to brush my teeth with that one, I can verify," he joked.
