Staff member taken to hospital after assault in High Street shop in Canterbury

Police were called to a shop in the High Street in Canterbury after a member of staff was assaulted. Kent Police has released a CCTV image of a man they said could "assist enquiries".

The shop worker at a store, which has not been named by police, was assaulted at shortly before 5pm on Saturday, June 8. Police attended and the victim was taken to hospital.

An investigation continues and this includes the release of the image. The man is wearing a dark t-shirt, his hair is shaved at the sides and back in a 'lice cut' style, and he has tattoos on both arms.

Anyone with information, or who recognises the man, is urged to call Kent Police on 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/94539/24. They can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or by using the online form.
