Staffordshire park now crime scene as police guard forensic tent

A police forensic tent has been erected next to a children's playground in a popular park. The blue tent has been pitched across a path within Victoria Park, in Stafford.

It is just metres from the banks of the River Sow after a man was pulled from the water this morning. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are this afternoon standing guard outside the forensic tent. Police cars are also positioned around the entrance to the park.

StokeonTrentLive is this afternoon still awaiting statements from Staffordshire Police and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service following this morning's tragedy. The alarm was raised at 9.33am today.

Anyone with any information about the man's last-known movements can call the police on 101.
