THE staggering annual fee paid out to the sacked former head of Ferguson Marine has been revealed.

David Tydeman was ousted from his position as CEO at the Port Glasgow shipyard firm earlier this year after little more than two years in the role.

And an investigation by The Scotsman newspaper has put his salary at an eye-watering £275,000 - with the ex-chief earning significantly more than recently-resigned First Minister Humza Yousaf's £176,780, which includes his role as an MSP.

Mr Tydeman, who was replaced by interim CEO John Petticrew, was removed from the high-paying post in March, with Ferguson's chair, Andrew Miller, stating that 'action' and 'strong leadership' were needed to ensure the yard's long-term future.

Upon his appointment in February 2022, the Telegraph reported that Mr Tydeman's pay packet was £205k - and it was confirmed earlier this year that he would receive a substantial severance sum following his dismissal.
