Status Quo’s Rick Parfitt Flown Back To The UK After Suspected Heart Attack

Status Quo’s Rick Parfitt has been flown back to the UK to recover after suffering a suspected heart attack in Turkey.

Rick, 67, was taken to hospital in the early hours of Wednesday morning (June 15) after performing at Turkey’s Expo 2016 in Antalya.

At the time, a statement read: “He is being treated in a hospital in Turkey and whilst his condition is serious, he has already demanded his customary cup of tea with two sugars and a sweetener.”

The guitarist is now said to be ‘comfortable’ in a London hospital, and is awaiting further tests.

According to The Mirror, band manager Simon Porter has now updated fans on the official Status Quo fan club’s Facebook page, writing: “I’m happy for you to report on my behalf that Rick was flown to London by air ambulance on June 19th.

“He is comfortable and further tests will be conducted this week.

“There is nothing else to add at this stage and wild speculation is both unhelpful and upsetting to all concerned. We will give a further update as soon as there is something factual to report.”

The son of bassist John ‘Rhino’ Edwards, Freddie Edwards, has been filling in for Rick.

We’re wishing Rick a speedy recovery.
