Arrow star Stephen Amell has said he would consider reprising the role of Oliver Queen after the series ends.

The CW show is coming to an end after a shortened eighth season later this year, but that doesn't mean we'll have seen the last of Amell in the DC TV universe.

"I owe so much to them," the actor said at MegaCon in Florida. "So if five years from now they're wrapping up Show X and they were like, 'You know what would be the cherry on top of the sundae? Would you come back?' What am I going to say? 'No?'

"It's a shitty idea that I'd say no.

"You do what you can. I owe a lot to people, so if they need something from me, they can always have it."

Amell previously called playing Oliver Queen "the greatest professional experience of my life".

"There's so much to say," he said at the time of the announcement confirming the end of the show. "For now I just want to say thank you."

Meanwhile, Emily Bett Rickards exited the show at the end of the seventh season. But that doesn't mean she couldn't come back for one last appearance.

"If [showrunner Beth Schwartz] can find a way to bring her back that makes sense, and Emily is available, we'd love to have her," CW president Mark Pedowitz said earlier this month. "Otherwise, I'm pleased by how they said goodbye to the character."

Arrow airs on The CW in the US, and Sky One in the UK.
