Stephen Fry is set to delight fans with his return as the host of 'Jeopardy!' for ITV, with whispers of a second series in the pipeline. The show pits contestants against each other, challenging them to present their answers in question form for a chance to win cash.

The 66 year old intellectual heavyweight and ex-'QI' host is ready to take up the reins again for the UK version of the iconic quiz show, which airs on weekday evenings. According to reports from The Sun, it looks like the programme is gearing up for a comeback.

Fry has been vocal about keeping the original essence of the show intact, reports the Mirror.

In a chat with the Daily Star newspaper's Hot TV column, he expressed: "I was fairly insistent from the outset that we shouldn't compromise on the standard and or dicker about with the rules and procedures, which are time-honoured and proven."

He assured viewers: "Fortunately, ITV and the production company behind the series were in complete agreement. It's not very different at all."

He did mention one unique aspect of the British version: "The only real difference is that the UK version is a little longer with an extra round."

Contestants also have the chance to win big.

Fry shared his excitement: "It builds and builds for as long as the champion stays on. In theory, a really brilliant champion could win hundreds of thousands of pounds or more."

Stephen, known for his role as a quizmaster, is currently starring in the film 'Treasure', alongside Lena Dunham, the creative force behind 'Girls'. In this movie, he takes on the character of Edek, a Polish Holocaust survivor who reluctantly returns to his roots, accompanied by his journalist daughter, portrayed by 38 year old Lena.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the role, Stephen said: "Just occasionally, roles come along that ask for something else, and to have someone like Lena to work with I fell in love with her straight away."
