Stephen Fry to return as host as ITV recommissions hit series

Stephen Fry is poised for a celebrated comeback as the host of 'Jeopardy!' on ITV, with whispers of a second series in the pipeline. Contestants will engage in a cerebral contest, providing questions as answers to win cash prizes.

The 66-year-old intellectual giant and ex-'QI' host is ready to return to our screens, steering the UK version of the iconic quiz show during weekday evenings. Fry has been vocal about preserving the essence of the original show's format.

In a conversation with the Daily Star newspaper's Hot TV column, he remarked: "I was fairly insistent from the outset that we shouldn't compromise on the standard and or dicker about with the rules and procedures, which are time-honoured and proven."

He offered reassurance to devotees of the show: "Fortunately, ITV and the production company behind the series were in complete agreement. It's not very different at all."

He acknowledged a unique British element to the show: "The only real difference is that the UK version is a little longer with an extra round."

A substantial sum awaits the victors, reports the Mirror.

An excited Fry shared: "It builds and builds for as long as the champion stays on. In theory, a really brilliant champion could win hundreds of thousands of pounds or more."

Stephen, known for his role as a quizmaster, is currently starring in the film 'Treasure', alongside Lena Dunham, the creative force behind 'Girls'. In the movie, he plays Edek, a Polish Holocaust survivor who reluctantly revisits his past with his journalist daughter, portrayed by 38 year old Lena.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the role, Stephen said: "Just occasionally, roles come along that ask for something else, and to have someone like Lena to work with I fell in love with her straight away."
