Still Game stars have hailed the efforts of a Shotts family who turned their home into a mini Craiglang for the town’s gala day.

Nancy Mitchell transformed the garden with the back drop of The Clansman and Navid’s store alongside the characters from the hit BBC show.

And the superb showing was a huge hit on social media with stars of the show, Ford Kiernan who played Jack and Sanjeev Kohli who starred as Navid hailing Nancy’s outstanding work.

Posting on X (formerly Twitter) Kiernan said: “Absolute class” while Kohli added: “Well this is impressive.”

Nancy’s niece Leah Stephenson said: “Nancy’s great-niece Emily Watt was this year’s gala queen and her other niece Eva Watt was her lady-in-waiting.

“They have just discovered Still Game and they’ve became obsessed with it so when they were asked what they wanted to decorate their house for the gala day there was only one option.

“My aunt Nancy is an amazing artist so she drew everything herself. She was even in hospital getting an operation on her hand but that didn’t stop her.

“It took three days to get everything up but she started drawing the characters back in January. It was absolutely amazing.”

Old favourites Jack, Victor, Winston and Tam are there alongside Isa, Bobby the barman, Navid and his wife Meena.

There is even space for secondary characters such as Eric, Shug ‘The Lug’, Pete the jakey, Methadone Mick, big Innes and Edith.

There was also a massive ‘Weclome’ sign which has been a good thing as many people have taken the time to visit the house after the video went viral.

Leah added: “We have had over 63,000 views on TikTok just from a short video and that number is still rising.

“We have had so many people come and see it and tell her how amazing it was.

“People have been taking pictures and getting their photos taken inside the garden.

“There have been people coming from Glasgow, Uddingston and other places just to see the house.

“I feel really pleased for my aunt Nancy for all the hard work she put into it and how amazing it was.

“She really deserves the recognition! I think she is going to keep it up for another couple of days due to all the attention.”
