Stilwell residents involved in motorcycle-vehicle collision east of Tahlequah

Feb. 8—On Wednesday, Feb. 7, three people were injured in a collision between a motorcycle and another vehicle, 9-1/2 miles east of Tahlequah.

Around 7:30 p.m. on State Highway 51 and Collins Road, Kenneth Duchesne, 36, of Stilwell, was driving a 2017 Harley Davidson east on S.H. 51, while Jennifer Eubanks, 41, also of Stilwell, was westbound in a 2020 Ford Escape. Duchesne tried going around Eubanks' vehicle in a no-passing zone, and he lost control of the motorcycle, which slid into Eubanks' vehicle.

Duchesne was transported to Washington Regional in Arkansas by First Flight, and admitted with internal and external leg, trunk, and head injuries, but in stable condition. Eubanks was taken by a personally-owned vehicle to W.W. Hastings Hospital, where she was treated and released.

Eubanks had one passenger, Robin Murphy, 62, of Stilwell, who was taken by Cherokee Nation EMS to Northeastern Health System. Murphy was admitted in stable condition with internal and external injuries head and trunk.

According to reports, the condition of the drivers was normal, with the roadway being dry and weather clear. The cause of the collision was reportedly improper overtaking in a marked zone on the part of Duchesne. Seatbelts were in use in Eubanks' vehicle, and the airbags deployed. Duchesne's was not wearing a helmet.
