Pizza giant Papa Johns has reopened a Stoke-on Trent branch - nearly four months after its sudden closure. The chain shut its Longton takeaway in January along with its site in Crewe.

But is has now been confirmed that the Normacot Road outlet is back serving hungry customers following a new franchise management. A total of 10 jobs have been created.

A Papa Johns spokesman said: "We are excited to re-open Stoke-on-Trent with a fresh management team. Serving up great pizza to the local community is what we are all about, and now we are delighted that customers can enjoy their favourite Papa Johns pizza with friends and family once again.

“At Papa Johns, we are dedicated to serving delicious fresh, pizzas made with quality ingredients, while also having a positive impact on the communities we operate in so we are also pleased to be able to offer new employment opportunities now the store has been re-opened. We now look forward to welcoming both familiar and new faces."

The closure was not without controversy after Myles Cowperthwaite, 20, from Dresden, placed a £47.23 order for two pizzas, a side and a giant cookie from the branch after it had been shut for weeks.

The Longton Papa Johns first launched in 2015. There are also branches in Hanley, Newcastle-under-Lyme and Stafford.
