Stolen BMW Crashes Into Police Cars During Dangerous Escape Attempt

A stolen BMW was crashed into police vehicles in an attempt to escape after officers in Toronto moved in to arrest those in the vehicle on April 12, police said.

Footage released by the Toronto Police Service shows the stolen BMW X5 reversing and smashing into several police vehicles.

Police said the BMW had been stolen on April 6 in the Ellesmere Road and Kennedy Road area of Toronto.

According to police, officers patrolling in the North York area of the city had registered another stolen car, a Lamborghini Urus, on their Automatic License Plate Reader on April 12.

They followed the Lamborghini to a parking lot on Barmac Drive, at which the BMW soon arrived.

When the drivers of the stolen vehicles attempted to leave police intervened, and the BMW driver attempted the dangerous escape.

Mehkash Sohal, Daquon Green, and an unnamed 17-year-old were arrested and face 54 charges, police said.

More than $18,000 in Canadian currency and three handguns were also found in the vehicles, police said. Credit: Toronto Police Service via Storyful
