Stolen motocross bikes seized after police helicopter search around Exeter

Two suspected stolen motocross bikes were seized by police after being driven dangerously around Exeter. Officers from Devon and Cornwall Police were called to reports of scrambler motorbikes being driven erratically at 12.40pm yesterday (Wednesday, May 8).

The bikes were allegedly driving at speed around the St Thomas, Exwick, Marsh Barton and Cowick Barton areas of the city. Police said a man tried to stop the bikes but was threatened by the riders, described as teenage males who were not wearing motorcycle helmets.

The police helicopter was deployed to search the city before officers were led to an address in the Locarno Road area. They found two suspected stolen motocross bikes and seized them.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said in a public appeal: "Enquiries continue to identify and locate the suspects.

"Anyone who witnessed the incidents or has dashcam footage or information which may assist police is asked to contact police online or by telephone on 101, quoting crime reference 50240111134."
