Storm Brendan Floods Restaurant on Scottish Pier

Storm Brendan brought heavy rain and intense wind across several parts of the United Kingdom and Ireland on January 13, causing the evacuation of a seafood restaurant in Fort William, on the west coast of Scotland.

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency issued alerts and warnings for coastal communities all across Scotland, encouraging residents to stay vigilant and up to date on flooding information.

Crannog restaurant, which sits on a pier overlooking the waters of Loch Linnhe, had to be evacuated last night after the water rose to a level that was perceived to be unsafe for diners.

This video, recorded by Eilidh MacLeod, shows the restaurant after it had been evacuated, as waves slap against the front doors and windows.

Restaurant manager Andrew Carr said the restaurant was not badly damaged and they intend to be open again on January 15 or 16. Credit: Eilidh MacLeod via Storyful
