Storm Isha Sees Copenhagen-Dublin Flight End Up in Liverpool After 12-Hour Ordeal

Passengers spent more than 12 hours on board a flight from Copenhagen to Dublin during Storm Isha on January 21, after the plane was first diverted to Manchester, then failed to land in Dublin, and Belfast, before finally being diverted to Liverpool.

The original flight on Sunday morning from the Danish capital to Ireland was diverted to Manchester after it failed to land at a stormy Dublin airport.

The plane then spent four hours on the ground before a second attempt to reach Dublin. Three hours later the plane was diverted to Liverpool, having circled both Dublin and Belfast airports.

Elaine Gleeson, who said she was on the flight, called the journey “absolutely brutal” in a post on X.

On Monday morning, she said passengers had slept on the floor at Liverpool airport as they waited for flights. Credit: Flightradar24.com via Storyful
