Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown cancels fan event 'to rest'

Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown has cancelled her guest appearance at Comic-Con "to rest" after working "too hard".

The 13-year-old actress has issued a video apology to fans of the hit supernatural show, who were expecting to see her at the Florida event over the weekend.

"Hey guys, I've never had to do one of these videos before," she said.

"But I have had to cancel a Comic-Con last minute, which is something I've never done and I'm planning on never doing again," she added.

Brown rose to fame as the superhuman character Eleven in the Netflix original show Stranger Things, and is currently shooting the second season.

"I just think I've worked too hard and I have to rest, as I've had a really long shoot and I'm still filming Stranger Things," she said.

The much-awaited second season is due to start in October, and already has a teaser trailer which anticipates the return of the show's most loved characters.

Millie Bobby Brown was born in Spain but was raised in the UK for most of her life, having moved to Los Angeles last year following the show's success.

Comic-Con is the most important comic book convention in the world, and moves from city to city throughout the year, booking celebrity guests.

"I'm sorry to everyone who was going and I promise you guys I'm going to get back to you," she said.

"I love you guys all, thank you so much for your continued support and thank you."
