Stranger Things writers drop unseen Eddie and Dustin clip

As Stranger Things fans eagerly await the fifth season of the Netflix show, its writers have dropped a previously unseen Eddie Munson and Dustin Henderson clip.

The fourth season of the wildly popular sci-fi series saw Eleven and the gang face off against the evil and powerful Vecna, with the duo facing off in a telekinetic battle that, quite literally, split Hawkins into two.

With Will Byers sensing that Vecna may not be as dead as the group assumed, the stage is set for the final season.

The writers of Stranger Things have now released an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip from the explosive season four finale that shows how one iconic scene between Eddie and Dustin came to be.

Fans of the show will remember how the duo travelled into the Upside Down with their friends in a bid to stop Vecna from destroying the world. With Nancy Wheeler, Steve Harrington, and Robin Buckley heading to the Creel House, Dustin and Eddie stayed behind at the latter's trailer to lure the deadly demobats away from their friends.

However, when their plan quickly heads south and it seems none of them will make it out alive, Eddie makes the ultimate sacrifice to save his friends - and does so in epic fashion by distracting the demobats by shredding Metallica's 'Master of Puppets'.

The clip, posted to the Stranger Things writers' Twitter account, revisits the moment Eddie grabs his guitar to play the "most metal concert in the history of the world".

From the viewpoint of the cameraman, we see Eddie and Dustin burst into Eddie's bedroom as he grabs the axe and delivers his famous line. Then, we hear crew members giving the actors instructions on the scene.

Joseph Quinn, who plays Eddie, discusses how he could grab the guitar in the moment, contemplating slinging the instrument over his shoulder.

The actor then debates with himself whether the action would be "too camp", with the man behind the camera laughing at the statement and considering it himself.

They then discuss whether they can make the guitar strap "hold" so that it won't break during the motion, with the cameraman saying the idea is "sick".

It seems fans will be waiting longer than expected for new episodes of Stranger Things after it was announced production on the latest season has been paused as a result of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike.

However, a new teaser trailer for a stage adaptation of the show has been released, giving fans a taste of the upcoming prequel.

Stranger Things seasons 1-4 are now streaming worldwide on Netflix.
