Strictly 2023 week-by-week results – who's at the top of the leaderboard?

Strictly Come Dancing is back with another star-studded season, and the competition is already heating up.

This year, the BBC celebrity dance contest sees 15 famous faces taking to the dancefloor in a bid to win the iconic Glitterball Trophy.

Strictly fans have seen some impressive moves from the season 21 cast throughout the series, with several stars gaining high praise from the four judges: Anton du Beke, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Shirley Ballas.

Week one saw the celebrities and their professional partners perform a competitive dance together for the first time. While four couples were tied near the top of the leaderboard with a score of 29, the true frontrunners from week one were Nigel Harman and Katya Jones, who were awarded an impressive 32 points out of 40.

Week two saw the celebrities performing a different style of dance, with Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin topping the week's leaderboard. The public vote opened for the first time at the end of the show, with their votes combined with the judges' scores from the first two weeks.

Week three saw the competitors take part in Movie Week, the first themed round of the series and a long-standing Strictly tradition. Head judge Shirley also awarded the first 10 of the series.

Week four saw Layton and Nikita top the leaderboard once again, this time earning the earliest 10 for a Cha-cha-cha in Strictly history.

Week five featured another leaderboard-topping routine by Layton and Nikita, with the pair scoring the first 39 for a week five routine in 13 years.

Week six took things in a spooktacular direction for Halloween, with Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola topping the leaderboard for the first time, while Layton wowed with an impressive backflip in heels.

Week seven saw an emotional Couples Choice routine from Annabel and Johannes, with Ellie and Vito heading up the leaderboard for the second week in a row with their showstopping American Smooth.

Week eight saw Layton and Nikita at the top of the leaderboard again after stunning the judges and audiences with an Argentine Tango to Loreen's 'Tattoo', earning a near-perfect score.

Week nine marked the show's return to Blackpool's famous Tower Ballroom, where both Layton and Nikita and Ellie and Vito headed up the leaderboard after impressing the judges – but Craig's 10 paddle didn't make it into his suitcase.

Week 10 returned proceedings to the normal Strictly studio, with Ellie and Vito topping the leaderboard once again after their Argentine Tango earned an impressive score. Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell also had the judges in tears with an emotional routine dedicated to Bobby's late mother Jade Goody.

Musicals Week took place in week 11, with Nigel Harman and Katya Jones forced to withdraw from the show ahead of the episode due to an injury. As such, there was no public vote and no one went home.

Week 11 was also notable for the first perfect score of the series, with Layton and Nikita earning the honour with their Paso Doble.

Week 12 saw the final four contestants take on two dances each in the semi-final, with Layton and Nikita scoring another 40 for their Charleston and earning a standing ovation from Craig.

During the final, each pair performed three times – a couples' pick, judges choice and a show dance – and while the judges had their say, the winner was determined entirely by public votes.

All leaderboard scores are out of 40, except where otherwise specified.

Couples performed three performances each. Despite ending up bottom of the leaderboard, Ellie and Vito were crowned champions.

As there was no elimination last week, the couples' scores from week 11 were carried forward to this week. The couples performed two dances each, with their final score being the total from their three previous dances.

Strictly Come Dancing 2023 results – week 11 leaderboard and scores

Nigel Harman did not take part in the quarter-finals due to injury and has left the competition (although he is due to return to the show for its final later this month).

As a result, there was no dance-off in the Strictly Come Dancing week 11 results show and all of the Musicals Week scores will be carried over to the semi-final on December 9.

The Week 11 scores will be combined with the judges' scores from the semi-final routines and the viewer votes, to determine who will automatically go through to the final and who will have to dance again for the last spot.

Angela Scanlon and Carlos Gu found themselves in the dance-off with Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin, with the judges voting 3-1 in favour of the latter couple, meaning Angela and Carlos' Strictly journey came to an end.

Angela Rippon and Kai Widdrington were in the dance-off for a third time, this time facing off against Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell. After a unanimous vote to save Bobby and Dianne, Angela and Kai were eliminated from the competition.

Strictly Come Dancing 2023 results – week 8 dance-off

Angela Rippon and Kai Widdrington found themselves in the dance-off once again, this time against Krishnan Guru-Murthy and professional partner Lauren Oakley. Despite there not being a unanimous vote, with head judge Shirley Ballas voting to save Krishnan and Lauren, it wasn't enough to sway the three votes from the other judges in favour of Angela and Kai.

Therefore, Krishnan and Lauren became the seventh couple to leave the Strictly ballroom, just missing out on a coveted spot to compete at Blackpool's famous Tower Ballroom.

Adam Thomas and Luba Mushtuk were in the dance-off with Angela Rippon and Kai Widdrington. All four judges chose to save Angela and Kai, forcing Adam and Luba to hang up their dancing shoes.

The soap star said of his time on Strictly: "The confidence and self-belief I now have in myself, it's out of this world, I have to thank all these guys [castmates] up here. What a bunch to be on this journey with. I'm just very, very lucky!"

Meanwhile, Luba said of her partner: "You're the winner of my heart forever, and it's better than a trophy."

Strictly Come Dancing 2023 results – week 6 dance-off

During the Halloween spooktacular, Zara McDermott and Graziano Di Prima found themselves in the dreaded dance-off against Adam Thomas and Luba Mushtuk.

All four judges voted to save Adam and Luba, meaning Zara became the fifth celebrity to leave the dancing competition.

The former Love Island star said she had "the time of [her] life" on the show and would be cheering everyone on for the remainder of the series.

Eddie Kadi and Karen Hauer were in the dance-off along with Zara McDermott and Graziano di Prima.

Craig, Motsi, Shirley and Anton all voted to save Zara and Graziano, meaning that Eddie and Karen left the competition.

On Monday, October 23, it was announced that Amanda Abbington had decided to withdraw from Strictly. She later confirmed in her own statement that "for personal reasons I am unable to continue".
