Strictly 2023: Couples make their bid to avoid going home first - as it happened

After showing off their dance moves live for the first time last week, the 15 celebrities competing in Strictly Come Dancing 2023 took to the dancefloor in the second live show of the 21st series, and already one talented contestant earned all nines from the judges.

For only the second time in Strictly history, a week two performance won all nines from the judges - the lucky couple in question were Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin, whose Quickstep was labelled "ridiculously" good.

Other dancing duos impressing judges Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton du Beke included Amanda Abbington and Giovanni Pernice, Angela Rippon and Kai Widdrington, and Angela Scanlon and Carlos Gu.

On the other end of the leaderboard was Les Dennis who again received the lowest score of the night with partner Nancy Xu, putting them in last place.

The week one leaderboard stands as the judges scores have been carried over and at the end of the show, the public vote opened for the first time this series with the results due to air tomorrow night, when we'll find out who's first out.
