It might only be the start of May but the rumours on who will take to the floor for Strictly Come Dancing 2024 have already started, with a This Morning presenter, Eurovision host, football icon and even a few members of the Royal Family in the odds on potential contestants,

Since launching on the BBC back in 2004, Strictly has cast all manner of famous faces from all areas of sports and entertainment, with gymnasts, rugby players, politicians and TV stars all taking a spin in the ballroom over the years. A diverse mix of winners has included cricketers Darren Gough and Mark Ramprakash, newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky and soap favourites like Kelvin Fletcher and Kara Tointon.

Last year's series was won by another soap actor, with Coronation Street's Ellie Leach taking home the trophy with pro partner Vito Coppola, despite the couple finishing bottom of the leaderboard in the live final.

The announcement of which pros will be taking part in Strictly this year is imminent, but betting experts have already turned their attention to the celebs who might be joining them. And one of the most fancied stars at this point in time is This Morning host Cat Deeley, who has made a regular return to British TV, since making her debut as one half of the ITV daytime programme's new main presenting duo, alongside Ben Shephard.

Cat is currently on odds of 6/4 to do Strictly and not far behind her is comic Alan Carr, with the ex Chatty Man host a 4/1 tip. Other well fancied celebs include Louis Theroux, with the documentary on 2/1, the same odds as Zara Tindall; while, having been lapped up by BBC viewers for her 'iconic' star turn as Eurovision presenter last year, Hannah Waddingham is a 5/2 shout.

England Lionesses hero and I'm A Celebrity winner Jill Scott is at 3/1, with Zara not the only Royal on the list, as Princess Anne is on odds of 6/1, Princess Beatrice 8/1 and sister Princess Eugenie on 10/1.

Others stars further down the betting include Wham's Andrew Ridgeley, former It Takes Two host Rylan Clark and Loose Women's Sophie Morgan, who was linked to Strictly last year.
