Strictly Come Dancing confirms dance routines for first live show

For Strictly Come Dancing fans it's that time of year again, the very first moment where they will get to see contestants perform live from the ballroom floor.

The sequins are out and the nerves are high as the cameras go live on Saturday night, expectations may be lower (unless you're Craig Revel Horwood) but it is still the first time that the celebrities will be able to show off their dancing skills to the judges and viewers at home.

And the BBC has revealed which dances the celebrities will be performing with their professional partners, as well as which songs they've chosen for their first dance.

Here is everything you need to know.

Strictly Come Dancing week one dances

The first live show will be an exciting one with all 15 celebrities putting their best foot forward for their routines, much to the delight of the audience and judges Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Anton DuBeke.

There will be no less than five Cha Chas performed on the first show, with Angela Rippon performing one with her partner Kai Widdrington, Annabel Croft doing one with Johannes Radebe, Adam Thomas doing one with Luba Mushtuk, Zara McDermott performing one with Graziano Di Prima and, finally, Krishnan Guri-Murthy performing one with Lauren Oakley.

Elsewhere, Layton Williams will be doing a Samba routine with his partner Nikita Kuzmin, while Angela Scanlon and Les Dennis will both be performing Tangos with their respective dance partners Carlos Gu and Nancy Xu.

Opting for one of the more challenging dances, Nigel Harmon will do a Paso Doble routine with Katya Jones, while Amanda Abbington is performing a Viennese Waltz with Giovanni Pernice and Nikita Kanda is will do a Waltz routine with Gorka Marquez.

Bobby Brazier is starting out his Strictly journey with a Foxtrot alongside Dianne Buswell, while Jody Cundy and Jowita Przystal will perform a Quickstep together, as will Eddie Kadi and Karen Hauer. That leaves Ellie Leach, who is set to do a Jive with her partner Vito Coppola.
