Strictly Come Dancing: Karen and Kevin Clifton hit back at 'marriage strain' speculation
At the weekend, it was reported that professional Strictly Come Dancing dancers, Karen and Kevin Clifton, had fallen victim to the dreaded ‘Strictly curse’.
The pair, who wed in 2015, were said to be “barely speaking” as their relationship struggled with Kevin’s constant trips to Scotland with his celebrity dance partner, Susan Calman.
Things were said to be so bad that group rehearsals had been made awkward, however, Karen took to social media last night to debunk the speculation in the best possible way.
Following Kevin and Susan’s elimination in yesterday’s results’ show, Karen posted a sweet photo of her husband kissing her on the cheek, simply writing alongside the image: “Always proud of you my love @keviclifton” and the heart emoji.
After losing to Alexandra Burke and Gorka Marquez in last night’s dance-off, Kevin apologised to his wife as he confessed that he is difficult when filming the show.
He said: “When Strictly is on I’m not the easiest person to live with, I go a bit mad so I’d like to say first of all thanks to my wife for putting up with me.”
Speaking on Saturday, a source told The Sun: “Kevin has spoken to some of those close to him and admitted things aren’t going well between them at the minute.”
Back in August, Karen admitted that her marriage to Kevin is just like every other couple’s telling the Daily Mail: “We’re not a superhuman couple, we’re normal, so when things happen, we fight.”
