Strictly Come Dancing star Kelvin Fletcher has insisted his marriage is doing “amazing,” shutting down rumours that he and former partner Oti Mabuse have been growing closer in recent weeks.

Just days after the Emmerdale actor was pictured partying at a London hotel with the professional bopper, his wife Liz Marsland was said to have unfollowed him on Instagram and been spotted without her wedding ring on, which sparked speculation that their five-year relationship was on the rocks due to his new friendship. But Fletcher, 36, has denied the rift.

“Everything is amazing,” he told The Sun. “I am just a little bit bewildered by all the attention. But I am sure it will all blow over.”

The same publication reports that Fletcher and Mabuse are set to head out on a five-day trip to New York soon, where they’ll teach a dance class and hosting a luxury cruise dinner.

Fletcher isn’t the only one attempting to dispel the gossip. Elsewhere, Marsland took to her Instagram story on 11 February to assure fans there is “no drama” between herself and her husband.

“That ring is heavy. It only comes out on special occasions. Oh, and it was fake tan day,” she continued.

Kelvin and Liz married in November 2015, and have two children together – Marnie, three, and one-year-old Milo.

Following his and Mabuse’s Strictly win in 2019, Fletcher said he’d had the “most amazing time” of [his] life and that he’s proud to have taken part in a show that “represents everything that is amazing with this country”.

He added: “I think the people personify what is great and it’s just been an absolute privilege.”

Mabuse, who is married to Romanian dancer Marius Lepure, gushed: “I’ve been on this show for five years and I have never ever met any celeb who gives his heart, his soul… for me that is the best gift and the best ending to my year.”
