Speaking to Hello! magazine, Natalie has revealed that she’s ‘very excited, happy and proud’ to be engaged to James Knibbs, but that ‘it was a complete shock’.

The Strictly professional, who’s partnered with Ainsley Harriott this year, met her fiancé two years ago, when the two boarded the same train from London to Leeds in November 2013.

The Australian dancer was en route to a meeting, having pulled out of Strictly after fracturing metatarsals in both feet.

However, despite being ‘gutted’ about having to miss that year’s competition, she told Hello! magazine: “It turned out to be a blessing in disguise.”

James, meanwhile, only just made that fateful train back to his then-home in Leeds because it was running ten minutes late.

And suddenly, we SERIOUSLY believe in fate.

He told the magazine: “I have to thank East Coast for being late. Getting that train was the best decision I ever made.”

N’awww.

However, don’t get too eager and start brushing off that fascinator just yet, because Natalie’s got Strictly to get through first before she can start thinking about china patterns.

Talking about her brilliant partner Ainsley, she admitted: “He is full of beans. He is 58 - the oldest in the competition - but he’s given the young ‘uns a run for their money.”

The two had to battle it out against Anthony Ogogo at the weekend after their cha cha cha to Happy Feet’s ‘Boogie Wonderland’ failed to impress.

The judges chose to save them though, and they live to dance another week. Hurrah!

MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS once again to Natalie and James!
