Ellie Leach has been voted the winner of Strictly Come Dancing 2023. The Coronation Street actor competed in the final against Bad Education star Layton Williams and EastEnders heartthrob Bobby Brazier. And even though the judges' scores put bookmakers' favourite Leach at the bottom of the leader board, the viewers voted her and partner Vito Coppola the winners of this year's Glitter Ball trophy.

Trained dancer Williams and partner Nikita Kuzmin had the highest scores of the night, and have consistently topped the leader board throughout the series. Brazier and pro partner Dianne Buswell had everyone in tears when they performed their Couples Choice for a second time, in tribute to Brazier's late mother Jade Goody. Each of the stars performed three dances in the Strictly final: their favourite, a show dance and the judges' pick.

Judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke were full of compliments for all the celebrity contestants throughout the evening and no one scored lower than 36 out of 40. Leach was given this lowest score after making a mistake in one of the lifts during her Show Dance to a J-Lo megamix.

Years and Years singer Olly Alexander appeared in the studio during the final to read out the voting terms and conditions and revealed that he will be representing the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024.
