Strictly Come Dancing star Craig Revel Horwood enjoyed a night out at one of Aberdeen's top restaurants during his return to the stage in the north-east.

Famed for his brutal reviews of celebrities on the hit BBC series, the Strictly judge popped into celeb hotspot The Silver Darling on Monday night (July 8).

His visit to the Granite City comes as the BBC judge swapped the ballroom for the yellow brick road for his return to the stage in Aberdeen.

The show is taking place at His Majesty's Theatre as part of a UK-wide tour following a successful run at the famed London Palladium.

He wasn't the only famous face to try the restaurant's tasty offerings, as nine-time golf major winner Gary Player also paid a visit over the weekend accompanied by friends.

"On Saturday, we had the honour to welcome nine-time major winner and one of the greatest golfers of all time Gary Player and his friends.

"Monday night brought in an author, dancer, choreographer and Strictly Come Dancing legendary judge Craig Revel Horwood.

"And we can't forget the dolphins that put on an incredible show a few times over the weekend and sightings of orcas near the new Aberdeen Harbour."

"Join us this week, you never know who you might share the room with."

The restaurant has become a popular spot for hungry celebs, with Man v Food star Adam Richman recently paying a visit where he raved about the Cullen Skink while watching the dolphins.

Downton Abbey and Paddington actor Hugh Bonneville is also a regular visitor to the north-east, and joined Dame Judi Dench in Aberdeen last year at The Silver Darling before once again attending the world-famous Braemar gathering.
