Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood unveils career change with unexpected announcement

Craig Revel Horwood is set to debut an album. The Strictly Come Dancing judge, 59, better known for his role alongside Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke and Motsi Mabuse on the judging panel, excitedly revealed on Monday, June 17 that he has put together a covers album titled Revelations: Songs Boys Don't Sing.

Expressing his enthusiasm, he declared: "I am thrilled to announce the release of my debut album! It's a momentous occasion for me, and I can't wait to share the songs I've carefully chosen."

Away from the glitz of Strictly, Craig has made his mark in the world of West End theatre with his directorial and choreographic talents gracing shows like Sister Act, and West Side Story. He is also poised to take on the role of the Wicked Witch of the West in an upcoming touring version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Wizard of Oz.

With each track on his album typically linked to iconic vocalists, Craig plans to unveil his rendition of Dame Shirley Basseys celebrated hit This Is My Life before the album's October launch. He reflected: "Throughout my musical journey, I've had the privilege of performing as both a dancer and a singer in numerous musicals."

He added: "However, this album holds a special place in my heart as I've had the opportunity to select songs that truly resonate with me. Each track on the album is traditionally associated with female singers, which presented a delightful challenge. I embraced this opportunity to record these songs, knowing that it might be my only chance to give them my own interpretation.

"The album is a perfect blend of drama, pathos, romance, and a touch of high camp. I've poured my heart and soul into every note, hoping that you will love each and every song.
