Strictly Come Dancing's musicals week line-up has been released, confirming the shows the couples will be taking inspiration from this weekend.

The theme week is always a highlight in the BBC One show's calendar and many of the couples talked about how keen they were to take part in it.

One of those couples was Tom Fletcher and Amy Dowden, dancing a couple's choice routine to Les Miserables' On My Own, who told Yahoo UK ahead of the dances being announced that the musical they would be taking inspiration from was "the ultimate".

Fletcher added: "Growing up, I was in musicals from eight or nine years old, and my sister is a musical theatre actress so musicals have been a huge part of my life and my family's life, so I always thought I would love to get to musicals week."

Joining Fletcher in his dream week are scoreboard leaders Rhys Stephenson and Nancy Xu, who will be playing on the CBBC presenter's strengths for fast routines with a Jive to Footloose.

Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice look set to create another memorable performance after last week's silent dance success, with a Quickstep to Love Is An Open Door from Frozen The Musical.

AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington will dance a Waltz to Edelweiss from The Sound Of Music, while John Whaite and Johannes Radebe will dance a Viennese Waltz to Chim Chim Cher-ee from Mary Poppins.

Fighting their way back from the dance off once more are Tilly Ramsay and Nikita Kuzmin, who will also be taking on the couple’s choice - this one to Revolting Children from Matilda.

Lastly, Dan Walker and Nadiya Bychkova are continuing their cheerful journey on the show with a Charleston to Good Morning from Singin’ In The Rain.

In last weekend's shows, Sara Davies and Aljaz Skorjanec were voted out after a dance off against Ramsay and Kuzmin.

Also missing this week's show will be judge Craig Revel Horwood, after testing positive for COVID.
