Celebrity MasterChef fans were left in hysterics on Monday night (September 16) when Olympic long jumper Greg Rutherford accidentally 'blanked' heavyweight boxer Dillian Whyte's congratulatory high five.

Alongside legendary Motown singer Martha Reeves, French actor Elizabeth Bourgine and radio and TV presenter Rickie Haywood-Williams, Greg and Dillian were tasked with making their own burgers in the BBC cooking show's most recent episode.

Retired gold medallist Greg opted to create a classic beef patty with oven-baked chips, while Dillian chose to conjure up a turkey burger.

The former's meal went down a treat with judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace - despite it being super spicy – and when the athlete returned to the celebrity line-up, he side-stepped Dillian's outreached hand and instead embraced Rickie and Elizabeth.

Viewers were quick to notice, laughing about Dillian's "death stare" on Twitter.

Dillian turned out to be a fan favourite during the episode, with many viewers taking to social media to gush about how entertaining he'd been.

They also praised his food, too, with one person writing: "Dillian Whyte has SHOCKED the culinary world. That salmon looked amazing."

"So impressed with the attitude Dillian Whyte has shown, completely out of his comfort zone," another wrote. "I like him more than I did before. Hope he sorts his boxing issues out soon."

Celebrity MasterChef continues on Wednesday night (September 18) at 8pm on BBC One.
