One follower wrote: "Fantastic picture – must have been special person, and good to know her laugh is echoing somewhere in every smile/song/breakfast image you relay. Sending a virtual hug."
"Sorry to hear this, Richard. Your occasional recitals of conversations with your mum were delightful – an insight into a woman with a wicked sense of humour. All the best to you at this sad time," replied another.
"I’m so sorry. May her memory be a blessing x," added Nigella Lawson.
Reverend Richard has previously shared insights into his relationship with his beloved mother. He once recalled a conversation with her, during which she had told him she didn't like his dancing or his wig after a Strictly performance.
The Reverend was partnered with professional dancer Dianne Buswell during his stint on the dancing show, with the pair becoming the second couple to be eliminated in the 15th series of the show in 2017.
