'Strictly' unveils BBC 100th anniversary dances, from 'Casualty' to 'Line Of Duty'

Casualty, Line Of Duty, EastEnders and Grandstand are amongst the inspirations for this week's Strictly Come Dancing routines in celebration of 100 years of the BBC.

The brand new theme week will see the couples perform to the theme tunes of some of the BBC's best loved shows as the broadcaster marks its centenary.

In the line-up for Saturday's show, Ellie Taylor and Johannes Radebe will dance a Tango to the Casualty theme tune, while Tyler West and Dianne Buswell will also take on a Tango to the Doctor Who theme tune.

Dramatic music lending itself to the more intense routines also includes Ellie Simmonds and Nikita Kuzmin dancing a Paso Doble to 'Montagues and Capulets' in celebration of The Apprentice.

Will Mellor and Nancy Xu will turn to ballroom this week for a Viennese Waltz to the Line Of Duty end titles, celebrating BBC drama, while James Bye introduces partner Amy Dowden to his day job as they dance a Foxtrot to the EastEnders theme tune.

There are two Charlestons coming up - Helen Skelton and Gorka Marquez's to the Blue Peter theme tune in recognition of her former role as a presenter on the show, and Jayde Adams will perform hers to 'The Ballad of Barry and Freda (Let's Do It)' by Victoria Wood, celebrating BBC comedy with Karen Hauer.

Viewers will also see two Quicksteps, as Kym Marsh and Graziano Di Prima take inspiration from the contest's roots with Come Dancing by performing to 'Ballroom Blitz' by Sweet, and Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystal dance to 'On Top of the World' by Imagine Dragons, celebrating BBC nature programming.

Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu take on the Couples' Choice this week to the Grange Hill theme tune, celebrating BBC children's programming.

Fleur East and Vito Coppola will mark the BBC's involvement with Eurovision with a Jive to 'Waterloo' by ABBA.

Finally, Tony Adams and Katya Jones will pay tribute to BBC Sport with a Cha Cha to the Grandstand theme tune.

Matt Goss and his partner Nadiya Bychkova became the third couple to leave the series last week, in a dance off against Marsh and Di Prima.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6.40pm on BBC One.
